Goldcrest
(Regulus regulus)
The tiny crowned king
The Goldcrest is one of Europe’s smallest birds, a tiny gem that passes through the Vrsac Mountains from autumn to early spring. It occasionally appears around our drinking pools and nearby trees, always moving, always challenging the autofocus. For photographers who enjoy the game of “find the bird in the foliage”, this little king is a rewarding prize.
Observed in hides: CK waterhole.
Seasons of observation: Spring and summer.
Probability observed: Low.
