Golden Oriole
(Oriolus oriolus)

Flute in the canopy

Golden Orioles arrive in the Vrsac region in May and stay until August, glowing like lemons high in the canopy. They are relatively common but often heard more than seen, with fluting calls drifting over forest edges, orchards and vineyards. Now and then they drop to our drinking pools, rewarding patient photographers with flashes of yellow and black over soft bokeh.

Observed in hides: Malo Srediste Waterhole, CK waterhole.
Seasons of observation: Spring and summer.
Probability observed: Low.
